The lower Australian dollar may be good for tourists coming to Australia, but not so good if you want to travel to many popular destinations overseas.

Rather than going abroad, take the car and explore the enchantment of your own backyard.

Some of Australia's best scenery and tourist destinations are in easy driving distance. For example, the south coast boasts several wineries, Mogo zoo, the Kiama blowhole, the Australian Naval Aviation Museum and don't forget-the Bega Cheese factory!

South of Sydney many magnificent beaches provide beach lovers with lazy days and relaxation in the sun, including the coasts stretching over the Illawara, Shoalhaven, the Clyde, Eurobodalla and the Sapphire. There is so much to do less than a 4 hour drive away from the big smoke and don't forget the magic of the Blue Mountains to the west!

Whale watching, dolphin watching, fishing tours and several action sports are also available for the more adventurous traveller while you explore your home state.
